About

Dr. Li Sheung Ying is the Director of the Centre for Instructional Support (CIS) with UBC Vancouver’s Faculty of Applied Science (APSC). With her combined experience in post-secondary teaching, research, and educational development, one of Melissa’s priorities is to inspire teaching and learning excellence and pedagogical best practices across all the schools and programs in Applied Science, while providing leadership for CIS and its faculty support services.

Melissa’s research interests include active learning and teaching spaces, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), curriculum development, and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), but she also warmly welcomes conversations about all things related to teaching and learning in higher education. She currently sits on the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE)’s Equity Standing Committee and is an FDW-certified facilitator of the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW).
